Being You

Did you know what a great day it is to be you! In fact there has never been a better day to be you, to be fully who you are.

What do I mean when I say be you, I am sure you have heard or read it many times that there is nothing to do, just be who you are. Sounds easy but what does is really mean?

Some people say to me that it sounds like they will have to be lazy if they stop doing things and just be who they are, and it is easy to see how it could be interpreted that way.

What it really means is that we should drop into being our self no matter what that is. You see we have been programmed to believe that we are not good enough the way we are, just look at advertising and how it works. We are shown pictures of perfect bodies, perfect hair, nails, skin, stomachs, feet, noses, lips etc etc. We are told if we buy this product we will end up with features like that of the picture. We see these images all the time, day in day out.

The interesting thing is this, the advertising exists that way because of what we as the collective unconscious believe about our selves not the other way around. The advertising companies are not creating this belief, it has always been there.

For generations upon generations we have not believed we are good enough, and so obviously we pass this onto our children and the cycle continues. One of the reasons for this is of course to propel us forward to find our talents, abilities and skills. The problem is that we believe it so strongly that it runs our entire life and no matter what we do, we still hanker for more, believing that if we could just get this that or the other, then it will be better.

The amazing thing is that when we stop trying to be something other than who we are, our naturalness falls forward. We become our greatness, simply by relaxing into who we are. You see if there is peace inside, you can’t help but be your self, and you are amazing just the way you are.

Can you feel the stress drop as you realize that, let me say it again, you are amazing and perfect just the way you are. Life is continuously changing, and we are a very valid part of life, so there is no need to worry that you will miss out on something if you don’t keep trying to be better. As you drop into being your natural self, relaxed and at ease, you will naturally be creative and expansive because this is what life is. Nothing to do, just continue to be you.

The mind will protest and argue that you need to plan and create schedules to get things done etc. I am not saying that you stop doing it, I am talking about how you are as you do these things.

The feeling part of you, sometimes referred to as your emotional body, is talking to you all the time. As you start relaxing and being the more natural you, you will become aware of those feelings and how they are communicating with you. Some of the emotions will be stemming from the way you are thinking. For example if you have negative thoughts your emotional body will follow suit.

So being who you are means, allowing you to be everything that happens within you in every given moment. Especially regarding your emotional body. So if you are feeling sad, be sad, if you are feeling angry then be angry. Important point: This last sentence does not give you permission to be sad or angry or upset all the time. It doesn’t mean you can go and throw your anger on someone either. What is means is that you take away the self judgement so that you accept your current state of consciousness and in that acceptance it has a chance of moving through you. If you judge your emotion, you are basically fighting what is, the emotion is there and you are trying to get rid of it. This is what creates pain. Pain is a resistance to feeling, and the quickest way to freedom is to feel your feelings, so start to learn to stop judging the way you feel about anything. Let the emotion come and then go, it’s that simple.

Cool quote for today.
